Rio Grand Fishing Report
Rio Grande River is flowing hard, we are in full run off at this point. The edges are holding clear and fish are eating streamers and nymphs right along the banks. We are hoping to be in the midst of the stonefly hatch within two weeks.
The Creede area is rich with public access non-river fishing options. There are many lakes within an hour drive from town. These include Rito Hondo, Road Canyon, Rio Grande Reservoir, Spring Creek Reservoir and Love Lake. Stop in Ramble House for directions and recommendations. Stream Flow
Streams and Creeks
Feel like fishing some small water? This area is abundant with many small streams where you can catch fiesty (and often, native) trout. You will rarely bump into another person as you experience some of the best scenery in the area. These include Shallow Creek, Upper and Middle Rat Creek, Middle Creek, Willow Creek, and Ute Creek. Depending on what you are looking for and the current water conditions, we can always recommend streams for you.
Creede Guide & Outfitters also offers backcountry guiding. This service will teach basics on fishing and reading smaller waters.
